Tuska '09

sabayone, paape and I are going to Tuska '09. Tuska is an outdoor metal festival held in Helsinki, and it's this weekend. I know some of the bands playings, but I'm doing brief bits of research on the others, so as to have SOME idea which stages I want to be at when. So far, I've the following in mind:

Bands I really, absolutely, want to see are in bold and italic. Bands I probably want to see are in italics. I'm not averse to any of them.

14:45 GOJIRA (Radio Rock Stage)
15:45 CALLISTO (Sue Stage)
15:45 TUKKANUOTTA (Inferno Stage)
16:30 ALL THAT REMAINS (Radio Rock Stage)
17:30 LEGION OF THE DAMNED (Sue Stage)
17:30 ROTTEN SOUND (Inferno Stage)
18:30 NEUROSIS (Radio Rock Stage)
19:45 ENSIFERUM (Sue Stage)
19:45 BLACK DAHLIA MURDER (Inferno Stage)
20:45 IMMORTAL (Radio Rock Stage)

13:45 GAMA BOMB (Radio Rock Stage)
14:30 DEATHCHAIN (Sue Stage)
14:30 DAUNTLESS (Inferno Stage)
15:15 THE FACELESS (Radio Rock Stage)
16:15 JON OLIVA'S PAIN (Sue Stage)
16:15 PROFANE OMEN (Inferno Stage)
17:00 SABATON (Radio Rock Stage)
18:00 EVILE (Sue Stage)
18:00 KORPIKLAANI (Inferno Stage)
18:45 AMORPHIS (Radio Rock Stage)
19:45 PESTILENCE (Sue Stage)
19:45 FIREWIND (Inferno Stage)
20:45 SUICIDAL TENDENCIES (Radio Rock Stage)

14:45 AMORAL (Sue Stage)
14:45 MEDEIA (Inferno Stage)
15:30 STAM1NA (Radio Rock Stage)
16:45 ELUVEITIE (Sue Stage)
16:45 GIRUGÄMESH (Inferno Stage)
17:30 MY DYING BRIDE (Radio Rock Stage)
18:30 MUCC (Sue Stage)
18:30 PARKWAY DRIVE (Inferno Stage)
19:30 VOLBEAT (Radio Rock Stage)

Apart from Korpiklaani and Amorphis overlapping on different stages, it's fairly nicely distributed.

So, anything else there anyone would recommend?

Hurrah for festivals! Are you doing the full-on camping thing?

I shall eat hotel breakfasts, shower with hot water, and proceed to rock harder.

I'm not entirely sure if camping is even an option for Tuska, actually, being as it's in the city.

Have you ever heard of Savatage? Jon Oliva was their lead & songwriter.

I saw Volbeat open up for Nightwish. Very, very strange sort of rockabilly/thrash. Kind of hilarious.

I have heard of Savatage, so might take a look at JOP.

Volbeat sound like I'd like them - the videos I can find on Youtube make them sound almost punk in comparison to some of the other bands.

Upgrading both to italics, and Volbeat to bold!

You are about to rock. We salute you (from East Berlin)!
